Season of Our Savior (Donate Filled Children's Stockings)

Using the guideline below, please fill stockings per the attached list located on the BMBA website & bring to BRCC on Sunday, December 3.

Each year during the Christmas season, Birmingham Metro Baptist Association offers you, your church or group, ways to share hope with others.

Christmas stockings for Birmingham children

BMBA churches work with dozens of area service agencies to provide stockings full of gifts for underserved children in our community. We receive requests for thousands of stockings each year, and the requests always outnumber the donations. Help us change that this year!

If you choose to participate in Season of Our Savior, stockings should be approximately fifteen to eighteen inches long, and six to seven inches wide. They can be homemade or bought. You can fill them with snacks, candy, coloring books, crayons, or small toys (no nuts or fruit, please). They do not need to be elaborate. If a choice is to be made, use less expensive stockings and put more inside. Please attach a label (download/print sheet of four labels here) to the stocking specifying whether it is for a boy or girl. The BMBA will also be putting a small booklet in each stocking that shares the Good News in an age-appropriate manner. Our goal is to point these children and their parents to Jesus.

• Grade 1-3
• Grade 4-6
• Teen

In addition to stockings, the BMBA also collects donations of hygiene kits. A list of suggested items for the hygiene kits is listed below.

PLEASE LABEL EACH STOCKING WITH THE CHILD’S AGE AND MARK WHETHER IT IS FOR A BOY OR GIRL. EACH AGE GROUP HAS BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS SEPARATELY.

PLEASE PUT THE FOLLOWING IN A ONE GALLON ZIP-LOCK BAG. 1 TOOTHBRUSH 1 TOOTHPASTE (TRAVEL SIZE) 1 DEODORANT 1 HAND SANITIZER 1 BOX OF BAND-AIDS 1 WASHCLOTH 1 SMALL BAR OF SOAP 1 DENTAL FLOSS 1 DISPOSABLE RAZOR 1 SHAVING CREAM (TRAVEL SIZE) 1 SHAMPOO (TRAVEL SIZE) 1 SMALL HAIR BRUSH/COMB 1 RAIN PONCHO (DOLLAR STORES HAVE THESE) 1 PEN/SMALL NOTEPAD

WE ALSO HAVE REQUESTS FOR FEMININE HYGIENE ITEMS. YOU MAY ASSEMBLE KITS WITH THESE PRODUCTS INCLUDED.

PLEASE SEPARATE THE HYGIENE KITS AND LABEL THEM, INDICATING WHETHER THEY ARE FOR A MALE OR A FEMALE.
