Greetings,
It has been 34 years since my family and I fled the devastating civil war in Liberia, West Africa. Growing up in the dense forests of Africa, I never imagined the journey that God had in store for me and my family. God’s providence took us from war-torn Liberia with only the clothes we had on our backs, stopping in various refugee camps, and settled us in Birmingham, Alabama.
Throughout these 34 years, I have stood in awe of the wonderful people that I’ve been blessed to meet in this city. Indeed, Birmingham has been good to my family. I can say that Birmingham isn’t just a city of refuge, but it is my home. In these 34 years, I have completed seminary, planted churches, raised my children, gained grandchildren, started schools, and expanded the Liberian workforce.
